One day after the Microsoft Surface Studio and the Microsoft…
DJI just announced their new drone model to add to their already extended collection, the DJI Mavic Air. Mavic Air it’s a new light drone that fits between their cheapest model, the $399 Spark, and the $999 Mavic Pro. It have some really nice features, but it lacks a little bit in flight time and video specs.
The Mavic Air have a very lightweight and ultraportable format and it can hold a 21 minute max flight time and can travel at speeds up to 42 MPH. In terms of software DJI has brought new software features with the Air, including, a 32-megapixel panorama option and better gesture controls. It’s the world smallest drone with a 3-axis gimbal, 7 camera vision system and 3 direction sensing.
The Mavic Air uses a 1/2.3-inch sensor that shoots 4K video at 24 or 30 frames per second, or 12-megapixel stills, all with a wide-angle 24mm f/2.8 lens and that for me it’s also a little bit a downside as I expected a little bit more in terms of camera quality. In the videos to showcase the camera you can see actually nice footage but I’m almost certain that cinematographic color correction was added to the final videos.
But it’s still a wonderful gadget to take with you, specially if you like adventures and long distant walks. The Mavic Air is available to pre-order starting at 799$ and estimated to be available at January 28, 2018
